About the track:

Fragile is the fourth single off Rikke Normann’s upcoming album “35”. This self-penned mini classic is a catchy, up-tempo, soul-duet, featuring fellow Norwegian, and previous Grammy nominee, Bernhoft!

It makes you smile and feel a kind of old-school-analog warmth in your body right from the opening bars.

Though it sounds quite cheerful “Fragile” still has an important and timely message to deliver, as do all of Rikke’s songs. As the title suggests “Fragile” talks about the way we live and how we take things for granted. The people around us, our relationships, and most importantly the world we live in, which is as fragile as ever.

Recorded live in studio Paradiso, Oslo, with no add ons, Rikke and Bernhoft’s voices carry her strong songwriting and its message effortlessly. The track is minimalistic not needing much more than their soulful harmonies, backed by a small but tasteful band.

Rikke actually dreamed of Bernhoft singing on this track when she wrote it, thinking their voices and need to address important topics, would be a perfect match. People would agree she was right, and this duet is a dream come true for her. It musically doesn’t get any realer or more fragile than this, yet the song and vocal power couple make you feel so safe and steady. Like it’s all gonna be alright.

About the video:

“We wanted to make a quirky video with skeleton puppets to emphasize and underline the message (and title) of the song. Like, what’s more fragile than a skeleton? We decided to go with the quirky, fun and kind of naive feeling of the video to contrast the seriousness of the lyrics, and also the vibe and way we humans treat the subject of climate change, environmental challenges and takings for granted. We all say it, don’t take things for granted, but we have a hard time learning how not to do it.”
